How Logo to 3D STL Works

This tool converts a flat logo, icon, or text graphic into a raised 3D mesh suitable for 3D printing as a plaque, keychain, badge, or decorative object. Upload a high-contrast PNG — ideally black artwork on a white background, or a PNG with a transparent background — and the tool will extrude the dark (or opaque) regions upward from a flat base plate, producing a printable STL. The base plate ensures the model is watertight and can be printed without additional preparation in your slicer.

For typed text, we recommend using a tool like Figma, Inkscape, or Canva to render the text at high resolution as a PNG first, then uploading it here. SVG-to-3D conversion with precise outline tracing is a separate workflow not yet available in this tool — this version uses pixel-based heightmap extrusion, which works very well for most logos and reasonably well for most fonts at sufficient resolution (600+ pixels wide).
